The Role:
The Management Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial performance of our Stockton operation and wider export business. Working closely with operational leaders and the Finance Business Partner, you'll provide high-quality financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and commercial insights that help drive sound business decisions across the organisation.
You'll partner with leaders across mining operations, logistics, environmental and rehabilitation projects, and commercial functions to ensure accurate financial information, robust planning, and effective cost management. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who enjoys working closely with the business, interpreting complex data, and turning insights into action.
The ideal applicant will hold a tertiary accounting qualification and bring several years of commercial accounting experience. You'll be highly analytical, possess strong financial modelling and Excel skills, and have the confidence to build effective relationships with stakeholders across the business. A CA qualification and experience within the mining, resources, or industrial sectors would be advantageous but are not essential.
Responsibilities:
- Actively champion health, safety, and environmental compliance by ensuring all activities are undertaken in accordance with Bathurst Resources' Health, Safety and Environmental policies and principles.
- Deliver accurate month-end reporting and financial analysis, including preparation of management accounts, performance reporting, commentary, stock valuations, reconciliations, and identification of key business risks and opportunities.
- Partner with operational and departmental leaders to provide timely and meaningful financial information that supports sound business decision-making and improved business performance.
- Support business planning and forecasting activities by preparing monthly and quarterly forecasts, assisting with annual budgets, and contributing to long-term business planning processes.
- Conduct detailed financial modelling.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
