About The Role:

Are you a strategic Mining Engineer with a focus on long-term project viability? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in a key future planning capacity, focusing on the future development of our assets across New Zealand and abroad.

This role moves away from day-to-day operational tasks to focus on the "big picture." You will be instrumental in conducting feasibility studies and long-term planning for our Buller Plateaux and Waikato operations, while also providing critical engineering support for our international developments in Canada.

Reporting to the Export Projects Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing robust long-term schedules and strategic mine designs across multiple regions.
  • Investigating and evaluating business improvement opportunities to maximise efficiency across our operations.
  • Providing expert engineering advice across our new projects and future developments.
  • Translating complex geological and engineering data into clear technical reports to support investment and development decisions.
  • Collaborating with interdepartmental teams to achieve optimal resource utilisation and project delivery.

What you will bring to the role:

  • An absolute commitment to health and safety and a proactive approach to risk management.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in opencast mining, with a proven track record in long-term strategic planning and project development.
  • The ability to manage complex technical data and translate it into actionable engineering solutions across different sites (NZ and Offshore).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
