Mine Operator - Takitimu Mine

Bathurst Resources is New Zealand’s largest specialist coal company. We produce over 2.2 million tonnes of coal each year and proudly employ over 450 people.  Our Takitimu Mine is located near the town of Nightcaps, 60km northwest of Invercargill and we are seeking a motivated person to be part be part of a growing team of friendly and professional people at our Takitimu Mine.

Mine Operator

The Role

Reporting to a Mining Supervisor within a rostered crew, you will operate a range of mobile heavy equipment and vehicles. You will effectively operate this equipment by ensuring safe work practices are maintained, machinery is well looked after, and pre-start reports are provided as required. 

Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:

  • Experience in operating one or more of the following pieces of equipment – Trucks, excavators, dozers (777, 1900, Dozers);
  • Exposure to civil and or mining earthworks in a busy environment;
  • A safety focus and ‘can do’ attitude.
