Maintenance and Asset Planner - Stockton Mine
Bathurst Resources Ltd currently operates Stockton Opencast Mine which is located close to the coast on a plateau in the Buller coalfield, 35 km north of Westport. This is one of New Zealand’s largest mines with a long history of coal production and produces high value coal for export to the world’s leading steel makers.
We are filling the role of
Reporting to the Mobile Plant Manager, you will develop and maintain the Stockton Mine mobile plant maintenance and major component schedules. The established maintenance plans will minimise Mobile Plant breakdowns whilst ensuring budgets and target availability are managed.
The successful candidate will ideally have recent experience in a similar position and be looking for an opportunity to join a progressive team to develop their skills and experience.
We are looking for someone that has:
- Relevant trades or maintenance planning qualification
- Technical knowledge of heavy equipment and workshop operations is essential
- Great planning and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate computer skills in Excel and Word
- Good communication skills
- Positive attitude, motivated and enthusiastic
The Mobile Plant Team is a department with a variety of on-going tasks, focused on the planning and development of the open cast coal mine.

This role is located at our Stockton Mine, 45 minutes north of Westport on the West Coast of the South Island and the successful candidate will be required to relocate to this beautiful part of New Zealand. We will assist with the relocation.
