Heavy Machine Operators (Excavators) - Takitimu Mine

Bathurst Resources is New Zealand’s largest specialist coal company. We produce over 2.2 million tonnes of coal each year and proudly employ over 550 people. 

Our Takitimu Mine is located near the town of Nightcaps, 60km northwest of Invercargill.

The Role

To strengthen our mining operations team, we are filling the position of Heavy Machine Operators.

Integrated into the Mining Operation Crews, you will operate Heavy Mining Machinery including 200 - 20 tonne excavators, 40 & 100 tonne dump trucks and associated ancillary equipment including Dozers and Graders.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience operating excavators in a civils or bulk earth moving capacity although limited experience would be considered for the right applicant.

Operators will work a Monday to Friday roster, some weekends as required.

Skills & Requirements

  • Experience operating heavy mobile machinery
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience in operating Excavators or class 5 licence
  • Excellent communications skills

This is a residential based role. Candidates will be required to live locally or be willing to relocate.
