The Role
Reporting to the Fixed Plant Supervisor and Workshop Foreman, the Electrician the Mine Site Electrician is to assist in the electrical maintenance, electrical installations and repair services within the North Island operations (both at our Rotowaro and Maramarua Mines) to ensure that the electrical infrastructure is maintained to a high level and is always safe and complaint in accordance with BRL electrical and safety standards.
Day to Day Duties
- Supervising and working with the leading hands to develop and deliver services
- Ensuring health and safety underpins all workshop operations and practices
- Overseeing and organizing the workshop job program
- Working with the maintenance planner to ensure all planned maintenance activities are completed in an acceptable time frame
- Standardising and streamlining workshop procedures and processes
- Ordering of parts and components to support cost effective and efficient service delivery
- Timely, reliable and cost-effective repair and maintenance services
Skills & Requirements
- Trade qualified
- A minimum of 5 years work experience
- Must have Full NZ Electrical License (EWRB) preferably with a Mining Endorsement
- Ability to work largely autonomously
- Experience with heavy industrial equipment
- Proven installation and fault-finding experience
- Applied knowledge of process control systems
- Passion for improvement and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as you will be dealing with a wide cross section of operators, managers and engineers
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
