Environmental Officer/Lab Technician

Bathurst Resources is embarking on an exciting period of growth and change and as a result have an opportunity for an Environmental Officer/Lab Technician.
The purpose of this role is to assist in ensuring mining and related activities are carried out in accordance with the relevant Environmental and Resourcing consenting requirements. It also provides support to the mine manager by undertaking coal sample analysis to ensure coal quality can meet customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Undertake environmental compliance monitoring, data collation and reporting
- Identification of requirements for and implementation of environmental mitigation and rehabilitation measures
- Ensure implementation and ongoing management and of all resource consents, and any other approvals required by the company.
- Develop, review and implement site based environmental management procedures
- Collect, Analyse Samples in accordance with the processes outlined in the Laboratory Manual. This includes sample preparation, ash analysis, moisture analysis, sulphur analysis and sizing.
- Undertake sampling as directed by the Mine Geologist.
To be successful for this position you will have experience in a similar role and an understanding of the Resource Management Act. You will have excellent communication skills and a commitment to health and safety.
